Over my dead body I'd be selling mine. Might swap it for your brand new orange 997GT3RS though if you twist my arm and nicely say prrrrlease...

Sebsea, pleased you sold your C4S. I was one of the interested parties and it looked a great example.
I'm having a bit of a dilemma and would welcome your opinion. The price differential between my two options a 996 C4S and a 997C2S seems very small. I would consider buying a 2003 C4S with say 15-25K miles but would want to pay about £40K. If I have to go much higher I may be better scraping up a few more quid and get a 997. You can see 997 C2's for sub 50K now and C2s's for 50-55K.

What made you sell your c4s and if you don't mind me asking, what sort of price do you think an 03 C4S is worth. There are loads on this site that won't seem to shift?
God decisions, decisions!!
Have you driven the 997 C2S and if so, how does it compare with your old car?
Thanks in advance.

I know what you're saying my C4S has been for sale for a good few weeks now and didn't really expect to see it go unless i traded it. My C4S was a beautiful motor and i'm still gutted it's gone. The only reason i'm selling is that i really fancy a 997 S, I think they're just slightly more refined a drive than the C4S - I drove a 997 S with the full GT3 body kit, short shifter and PASM, sports chrono thingy (it was loaded). The grip was astonishing, just point and go and the sports exhaust sounded sweet, about the same as the C4S (which is a must if you buy one)

All that said my C4S was the best car i've ever owned, it's plenty fast enough, it's got a great ass, slim waste and big scoops in the front..... if only more women built like this

a pleasure to own

I just hope the 997 S makes me smile as much

I think you answer your own question here...

and also between 996 C4S and 996 TT. IMO 996 C4S stick out as not great value for money when looking at second hand prices across the 996/997 range

Thanks Seb', a very apt description! I need to give this some serious thought.
Are there many 997 S's out there with the short shift gearbox and the spec you're looking for?

You can always have the short shift retrofitted. No need to have that as original spec.

First 997 C4S were delivered in November '05, I think.

Given their rarity, and higher purchasing price (not to mention their superior looks.......) I doubt there will be many up for less than £60-£65k, if they have low miles and/or decent spec. Happy to be proved wrong though!!
