New purchase and minor problems!

Newbie who has just bought a 4.2 imperial green cerbera.

Only a couple of problems. Please help if you can.

1. boot opens by itself- appears to be no problem with the catch but can the microswitch on the badge trigger the boot release while driving?

2. drivers door window sometimes does not shut properly as it leaves an inch gap? If i put the window up from inside before opening the door it works ok.

3. where can i get a touch up stick as the colour doesn't seem to exist?

The info i have found from searching covers boot not opening but not very much on opening while driving.

Any way....Why didn't i do this a long time ago?? Traded in a 2.8 Z3-so glad i changed from hairdressers car to hairy chest car. Apart from the above problems i am loving every minute!! why did i not do this years ago....

Lock the car and let the windows go up. Then press the button on the key fob to open the car go to the boot and in the boot hidden behind the carpet at the back of the boot, along the top. There is a control box for the doors disconnect the door box for 30 seconds and re connect it. This sould solve The door problem. Cant help with the others though.

re the boot - have you taken a look at the wire from the badge solenoid to ensure it is operating properly. If it is over tightened then maybe it is pulling open when driving. If you slacken it off a little then maybe that might fix it ? You can see the wire from the inside of the boot by removing the boot light.

Do you know the colour code? (Should be in the handbook) Amazingly Halfrauds mixed me some for around £8 !

The paint code is on the chassis plate at the front near side of your car under the bonnet. I used the code from the book and it differed to the one on the chassis plate, chassis plate code was correct.

Got mine from a TVR body shop in Bristol, sorry their name escapes me.

Does this happen at normal speeds ? Mine has been know to pop open at 100+ mph, presumably when the uplift from the passing air pulls hard enough to ping it. At first I thought it might act as a spoiler but it means you can't see anything in the rear view mirror and you're in danger of losing your sandwiches out of the boot.

I now just make sure I press the boot lid firmly shut - don't slam it.

I had the same problems with mine at about 90mph and i found that if i just firmly close it then its ok

i have driven up to cumbria for its longest outing yet and it was superb except for the boot was open all the way home. i found it only becomes a spoiler at over a 100 which i am using as a speed limiter..
Following this i now have the paint code from the chasis and i have had a look at the boot and it appears to work better when i give it a 'firm' push but if it continues I will look at the control unit or the cable thing. Even though the windows do not go fully up when i shut the door i found when i alarm it they automatically go up the last bit.

You need to undo the two bolts on the inside of your boot catch. Probably a full turn will cover the extra fifty miles an hour.
