I need to have a tracker fitted to my RS in order for it to be insured by the current insurance company.

The car has no alarm as such, but it has the Porsche DriveBlock immobiliser which is built into the ECU. As far as I'm concerned I don't see how you can have a better immobiliser than that! Alarms are pretty useless other than annoying neighbours anyway.

Does anybody know how they wire up the Tracker? Do they need to disturb the car's own wiring loom?

I really don't fancy having some mobile auto electrician messing around with the wiring loom of the car, I'd rather change the insurance company if they had to.

Thanks. Just how difficult is it to get to the ignition wires? Would they have to dig around in the loom to find it? Sorry for such a dum question!

Yes they would have to check either at the ecu or somewhere else and take an ignition swithced
voltage for their unit..assuming it needs 1.

if you contact the tracker firm direct they will send one of *their* people. the guy who did mine had done a cgt and koenigsegg in the morning, knew exactly what he was doing and was VERY careful/respectful
