Seen some spy shots of the proposed new Maserati Coupe that is launching at the Geneva Show and should be launching in the Autumn. I'm really taken with it and can't help thinking that it may represent good value vs. the Alfa with which it shares many components/mechanicals and which is more expensive and already sold out.
Anyone placed a deposit here?

couple of pics here...

looks good except for the rear lights. The nose (which I don't like on the quattroporte) is nicely integrated.

Still don't like it.....looks too much a German/Japanese design, and no individual wow factor that you expect from Italian cars.

Maybe that's what Maserati are gunning for now....a Merc/Lexus alternative.

I think it looks rather nice.

But only if they change the design of the lights all round. Front lights look like they were taken from a new series lexus and the rear lights look reminiscent of an older mitsubishi.

At the end of the day, I could learn to like the front lights, but the back is horrible irked

Well it's working for me. Always liked the Coupe.
I agree about the rear lights. There's a hint Ian Callum in the rear light cluster. Otherwise gorgeous IMO.

I'm with Rob on this. The 911 has always been a cracker. But... if it lacks for anything it's that it looks like every other 911. Especially the 997.

I still think the 911 is the most complete sportscar you can buy (for ANY price) but "special" it is not.

The Masser looks special. And you're unlikely to see one driven by your local Estate Agent. Flame suit on!

I have a hard time personally with the looks of the new Maserati, but its a personal thing so I wouldn't want to tell you what you "could" or "couldn't" think about how a car looks

As for exclusivity, so what. I'd rather buy a car I liked, who cares whether it is one of a kind or two a penny...

Anyway, somebody asked their opinion, those are mine, if they aren't yours, vive la difference monsieur

Chill hippy

I'm not trying to dissrecpect your view or tell you you're wrong.

As you say each to their own, and wouldn't the world be a dull place if we all liked the same thing.

But let's be honest with ourselves here, looks, exclusivity and image play a big part in why we all buy these cars.
If we were simply looking for driving performance we'd all put our IQ indicator on backwards and but a Mitsusubaru WRX STi EVO MMXXCVIII, but we don't because of.......looks, exclusivity and image.

And on those counts I think the Maserati has it.

All IMHO of course.

I think something "special" has to be exclusive. But something exclusive is not necessarily "special".
It's about how you feel. And, as you say, it's personal.

Cool man, sorry didn't mean to sound irked! Whatever floats your boat, exclusivity and image aren't high on my personal list ...
