I need some lighting to take some products shots. As I don;t want to spend to much ££££ can I use some halogen work lights, I know there isn't so much control, but they should do the job well enough.

Any thoughts???

Just a few things - I expect others will add to them!

1 - the colour temperature of the halogens may mean that you will need to correct the balance afterwards (I guess you are shooting digital)

2 - you may get 'hot-spot' reflections from the packaging, so either bounce the light off a white reflector or build a light tent to spread the illumination more evenly

3 - take care not to set fire to anything, they get rather warm in operation

4 - let us know how it went

best of luck,

Rob
