Supra '98 Spec front lights

I have a jap spec 1994 MkIV supra TT and want to fit the newer spec front lights. The car is at the Toyota garage right now and they say the headlights fit no problem but the newer spec side lights (which are one unit with the indicators) do not fit in the bumper. Has anybody done this mod ? Any help would be much appreciated !
