Just come back from a test drive of a rather lovely MK2 GT3,
Its definately all its cracked up to be, and its the step up from the CSL i was looking for.

Unfortunately the thorn in the side was the car would pull to the left under light acceleration and to the right on declutching the car (as when changing gear)

The last Z3M coupe seemed to have this trait too, that was down to a worn bush,

What could be causing this to a 25k mile GT3?

Please help!!!!

Not a silver one by any chance? If so, it could be one with a little history and it's worth checking out the original owner.

Failing that, the car should sit very nicley under acceleration etc. and is only really upset by poor road surfaces and cambers.

Ditto. If tyre pressures are correct and suspension/tracking correctly set up they go exactly where you want them to go! Something a bit off but so long as it's not actaully damaged is easily sorted.

There was a guy on another forum looking for a 3 and i noticed one for sale at an OPC which looked good value. He bought said car then posted on the forum about it changing lanes when changing gear under acceleration, flat road etc.. Myself and a few other GT3 owners all said 'mine doesn't do that'and he looked into it closer.

Turns out the car had been owned first by some performance hire outfit, had been in a smash etc. and was returned to the OPC who then moved it into the trade probably about 2 or 3 months ago.

I get a whiff of this car being that car if you know what i mean!

Silver comfort, steel brakes, about 20k, will now have about 3 owners....

Not quite time for relief just yet, the movements you describe are pronounced then the car still has set up issues. If it's a good car though these will be easily ironed out through a geo set up which you'd want to get done anyway.

PMing ScotiaSteve will get you the plate of the rogue car in question!

Have you seen this one www.pistonheads.com/sales/126067.htm it's a good un as the owner has just jumped into an RS.

Edited - the bad 'un def. had steels!

Just catching up with this thread chaps.

My GT3 did the same thing a few weeks ago. It was, as other posters have already mentioned, the tyre pressures. I stopped and checked all four corners. The two fronts were ok but the rears had dropped a little. The left rear about 10psi and the right rear about 4psi. As soon as the pressures were rectified the car behaved as Porsche intended.
