When someone asks you this at the petrol station or wherever, what do you say?

I find myself saying "It's a Monaro" followed by them giving a blank look and me saying "Vauxhall". Or to avoid their blank look sometimes "It's a Vauxhall...............Monaro". This is despite me spending plenty of ££ to make sure the car doesn't have any Vauxhall badges on it at all.

Just say it as it is.... (perplexing or otherwise) "It's a Holden Monaro; a V8 Coupe from Australia that boy racers get when they grow up". Keeps the curiosity but installs the respect (esp after you have driven off & your dutifuly modified exhaust repeats your words)

Yes, just say it's a Holden Monaro. You wouldn't say I've got a "Vauxhall" Manta years ago would you?

I gave a colleague a lift to the station and I could see her puzzling over the name on the glove box. Then she blurted out "I've not seen a Mondeo like this before" I stopped the car and told her to walk..

When my windscreen needed replaced the local National Windscreens ordered in the glass, only for me to arrive down and find a Movano screen waiting on me laugh

I sold a Porker 996 for the Monaro and several peeps in the office have come up to me with a very similar outcome
Them:Is that your new car down the end of the car park?
Me:Yes
Then: What is it?
Me: A Monaro
Them: A what?
Me: A Vauxhall Monaro!
Them: What, you sold your Porsche for Vauxhall!!
Me With a big grin:Yup
Them: Why
Me: You'll never understand... and walk off smiling

Try booking a ferry and they say "make and model sir?" "A Vauxhall Monaro". "You do realise we have to charge commercial rates for that sir?". "Why?". "Because it says here - Commercial Van" laugh And on the local inter island ferries "A Vauxhall Monaro? Don't have that on our list. Can you give me the dimensions?" confused
