Couldn't work out if they were trying to strike or surrender?

A dull match overall but sets United up well for the home fixture.

The Lille coach took his ball home.

French.......crazy people.

Come on Platini, put your money where your mouth is.

Oh no, wait. You're French....

Zut alors.

Tete de merde.

Are you French?

A goal is scored, perfectly fairly. The French go loopy and strop off the park in a hilarious manner.

Platini, head of the governing body, is French. It is up to him to ban Lille from the competition to prevent reoccurrences of this on pitch debacle. As for the fans' contribution, that is probably also worth a ban or punishment.

Relevant enough?

I am sure Platini got his post for his ability to overlook all things that involves French teams and for no other reason. rolleyes

The goal was fair though the coach who called the team in clearly did not think so, he should be reprimanded for his actions rather than the team, sadly the actions of the crowd as you say will bring in a bigger punishment for the whole affair.

Not forgetting the stadium not opening all the stadium area for the visiting fans and abysmal state of the pitch.

hehe

The French government have issued a four point plan of action to its people in the event of invasion.

1. Run
2. Hide
3. Surrender
4. Collaborate

I agree that it was the actions of one coach, not the entire club, that were deplorable, and as such he should be sent to the guillotine, or at least put in stocks for 24 hours.

Didn't understand why the united players wanted to get involved - made far more sense for them to line up ready to take the throw-in and "demand" the referee take control of the game. Ref could either : -
a) blow for throw-in to be taken
b) abandon the game

Result would either have been, 0-2 or the tie awarded to utd and Lille in big trouble.
