Hi guys; I'm new here so be gentle.

I will soon be moving to the Hemel Hempstead area, and also moving into Porsche ownership. So logically the Hatfield OPC would be a no-brainer choice for me, but, if others have had better experiences with OPC Reading or even Chiswick I'd be prepared to travel.

If you can recommend Hatfield I'd be glad to hear that too of course; if you want to tell me stuff that you don't want to post, then feel free to pm me.

Great forum by the way, with a lot of great opinions! I've only been lurking for a few weeks, trying to catch up reading the previous posts.

Cheers,

Spydermon.

I'm always happy using Hatfield

They moved recently to their new unit, which can handle a lot more traffic.

Always keep me updated/informed re: what they are doing/when it will be finished, anything i might need to made aware of etc. Always handy with their courtesy car, drop off servie etc

thumbup from me

Hatfield aren't my local garage but they were pretty good for me a couple of weeks ago when I picked up a nail in one of my rear tyres.

They ended up changing all 4 tyres to Michelins (I paid for one, Porsche paid for 3) - nobody had any Pirellis in stock.

Simon Levy, one of their sales guys, was particularly helpful getting me on my way.

Thanks for your responses everybody, 'preciate it.

I meant that Hatfield was a 'no-brainer' because it was the nearest opc, that's why I asked the question.

I am considering a 997 C2.....or a Cayman S and save the cash for more driving. But, I haven't driven or seen the Cayman close-up yet. confused

Cheers.

As an existing resident of the Hemel Hempstead area, I have used Hatfield and my current opinion would be to describe them as adequate but I don't have any grounds to make a particular recommendation. Test drives were good ... eventually, but despite saying that they would try to locate a car to meet my requirements they didn't really seem that bothered unless I wanted something sight unseen. In the end I bought from Cambridge.

Used Hatfield since for a brake fluid change. They said same day job when they booked it in, but didn't return it until the following day... If it was really going to take over 24 hours to do such a simple job they could have at least said so up front... [The cynic in me thinks that someone probably fancied taking it home for the night or something].

This years servicing could entail a drive to Cambridge and a request for a courtesy car (i.e. far enough that I would want to put the miles on the toy myselfdriving), but it isn't due for a while so I will see how I feel at the time.

Because I only needed one (the one with the nail in it) and they only had 4 of a different type. Couldn't believe it when they said it but I gather that I'm not the first they've done it for. Just wish I'd had done a few more miles on the old tyres. Apparently there's a 2/3 month wait on the Pirelli tyres.
