elise to noble logical progression ?

Afternoon gents,
So clearly you are all bloody quick but my knowledge of these cars doent extend much further than that really at the moment. The alure is strong though. My question is should I be looking at a Noble more closely and what are the prinicple differences I might expect from ownership? Is it possible to use the car on a daily basis?
My current steed does most jobs pretty well. It is fine over distance, very reliable and cheap to run. Is all that going to go out the window if I leave lotus?
Your thoughts and experience would be gratefully appreciated. There are so few cars out ther its tricky to do first hand research at this stage and I am loathed to waste some private sellers time to muse over his pride and joy that they are trying to part with.
Im hoping for a daily commute that I can spank on the track a few times a year.

lots on here including me have gone from a Lotus to a Noble M12
think of it as an elise with all the power you could dream of and sweeter handling
it has a few creature comforts also like air con !!
mine is not a daily driver(neither was my elise) - lots of people on here do use them every day
my suggestion would be to buy a nice cheap diesel turbo as a work horse and enjoy your Noble

In my 1.5yrs ownership I have found it to be a lot more expensve than my old Elise.
However I did buy a 2.5 with std diff which failed 3 months later (a Known problem) and a couple of other things.
Just look on here for the advice but try to get at least a GTO3 with LSD and 6 Spd.

Do you not think a decent 2.5 with LSD is not a viable option then? Are they so different, and does the extra 8k buy you so much more?
I moved from lotus to noble ownership and it was well worth the move, as everyone is saying they are not de-similiar to each other in terms of there handling charicteristics but the noble simply would blow the elise away with its performance, I also think that the noble is a much more comfortable drive and feels alot more solid i.e no sqeeks or rattles. Buy a noble you will not be dissapointed.

It only costs about £1000 a year to service, tyre, and maintain my 135r. I appreciate a Noble is going to be more, but how much on average ?
I spent £2.5K on maintenance, tyres and servicing in (almost) a year and 7000 miles on my 3R, and that included two trackdays. Which is pretty good really.
Edited to say: I also went from Elise to Noble and never regretted it.

i almost bought an Exige s2....but then i drove the Noble,i found the decision easy after that. i really liked the Exige but it didn't give me the same buzz.who knows,it may well be the other way around 4 you....think the only way u will know is after test driving the two cars yourself. if u dont like attention then dont buy the Noble as it gets lots.

No it's still a good buy if you make sure it has all the upgrades (I only know of one that has a 6spd, but the 5spd is upto the task). If I had done more research I wouldn't of paid out so much on the car to date (although I did get it 4k less than any other 2.5s at that time).
Also for a coule of k or less you can get it upto the perfomance of a 3/3R
Trust me, drive one and you'll love it. I have driven the Exige and I find it to loud (with stage 1 exhaust) when it hits the 6krpm mark (gave me a headache). I have not driven the S version so can't comment.
