Hi, I'm after a little advice, the Warranty on my Maser 4200 is up at the end of this month and not having taken my bravery pills recently I am looking to get a new warranty.

I have currently got one from Warrantywise, who want £1400 to extend it for another year (through my dealer - cheaper than going direct).

Has anyone get any other cheaper / better suggestions?

Ed (Troesma) you mentioned in a previous thread you had one from Lloyds Warrantyise, is this the same as a Warrantywise warranty backed by Lloyds? If not do you have a contact number?

Cheers for any help...

Hiya Tex,

Yep, Lloyds WarrantyWise. 1.4K seems a bit too expensive, more going through the dealership. Check with Johnnyboy as he did some market combing and think got a deal with AON through Lancasters. Mind you, really have a thorough read at the smallprint as you could find yourself with a worthless cover.

Cheers,

Ed

Hiya Tex,

Yep, as Ed says, Lancaster can supply an Aon warranty for the 4200, mine came out at £899pa, with good cover details. Call Paul Smith at lancaster. There was a thread recently (also on maserati Warranties) at www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=356452&f=63&h=0

I mention it, as you asked about cheaper warranties - it mentions Warranty Works and apparantly covering a 4200 for £1,539 for three years!

As Ed says, carefully research and compare 'covers' - there will be good reasons why one is significantly cheaper than another... make sure its worth it.. ya pays ya money...

HTH

Cheers,

Hi Tex, Just follow the posting & you will see that the Warranty I got from Warranty Works has set a new precedent. I got a three-year extended cover for £1,500.00 +. All checked out & would recommend that you get in touch with them direct to get any questions answered.

how much is the manufacturer extended warranty out of interest? or have they stopped offering one?

From what I was told by my dealer (they checked with Maserati GB), the manufacturer warranty can only be extended once and for one year only. I bought my car at the time it was being extended (so was included in the price). Think it is in the £1,500 ball park.

Hence everyone looking to external warranty suppliers to get cover....

Thanks for your help on this guys. Went for the 3 year warranty works offer - £1,540. Lancaster have stopped offering the AON warranty and I couldn't get a competitive price on the warrantywise offer.

The warrantywise offer seems good / better than the others with the exception of labour rates, non dealer essential work is at a max of £56 per hour. This should make for some interesting debates!

Good to know you got it sorted. Peculiar that you got 56 quid/hour on labour... in mine it says 95 quid (still short of the 135 quid charged by H R Owen, but in the range of Maranello).
