Utter madness. There is also 'talk' of photography being limited at events such as rallies.
This is what the MSA say:
18.0 Guidelines for Use of Photographic Filming Equipment at Sporting Events
There is evidence that some people have used sporting events as an opportunity to take inappropriate photographs or film footage of young and disabled sportspeople in vulnerable positions. It is advisable that all sporting organisations adhere to the appropriate guidelines given below:
Students or amateur photographers/film/video operators wishing to record the event should seek accreditation with the event organiser by producing their student club or registration card and a letter from their club/educational establishment outlining their motive for attending the event.
All other spectators wishing to use photographic/film/video equipment with a telescopic or zoom lens should register their intent with the promoter of the event.
This country is going down the pan. Utter madness.

Oh come on guys this is Daily Mail reporting at its best. Have you read the injunction???? The photography is one entry in a very long injunction that is brought under the Protection from Harassment Act that clearly relates to a long running dispute involving a whole bunch of other incidents.
Saying that this affects an individuals right to take pictures freely is like saying that the law relating to the possession of paedophilia on a computer affects an individuals right to own and use a computer.
There are issues about photography which I think are part of Tony's nanny state BUT given the way that the Daily Mail etc. rant about paedophilia it's the way things are going to go. This isn't one of them it's a very specific issue related to this one case.

Gentlemen, I think soon it will be against the law to breathe as we're depleating the MP's oxygen (as if the vast amounts of methane produced by pure bullshit isnt!)
This is absolutely ludicrous and I for one will take photos when I want, where I want and how I want and if the goverment dont like it, I will publically take a photo of my arse so Tony Blair can kiss it!

Council drops 'mad' camera ban proposal
:

: article said:
The magnification and manipulation that is possible with today's digital pictures, and the fact there is no need for a third party to develop and print images, is a cause for concern.

Can you imagine what would happen if you tried to ban foreign tourists from taking photos in england? MAJOR lose of tourist money. I personally doubt if i'd visit a country that I could photograph.
We'll end up with a situation where only tourists could use a camera in a public place, so you'd be okay if you're an illegal imigrant without a UK passport.
