Because this is the first time in history it's not been a Skyline. Which is a shame, because it had one of the most significant model names in the automotive sphere.
But not in Europe. I'm sure it will be a great car, but I still can't see many people choosing it over a 911 or AM V8. At the end of the day, it's a 70 grand Nissan

Well some people are daft... If it's as much a step over the 34 as the 34 was the 33 you'll be looking at a 911 Turbo, for C2 money - and if you're enough of tit to put badge prestige above driving pleasre then that's your own problem. Faced with the option, I'd take the better car.

Well said Calorus.
Leave the badge snobbery brigade to do their own thing, it'd be very dull if we all shared the same opinions.
I love certain supercars, and i'll be the first to say my Skyline GTR doesn't have the prestige or class that most exotics have, at the same time I love my car because of some of the so called supercars it has been up against and proven itself time after time.
I'm not under the illusion that i have the best car in the world, and i know it's only a 10 year old Nissan with no real prestige or class, but the old girl's got enough oomph to mix with the big boys and leave them licking their wounds in a lot of instances, and doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. IMO the same will be said for the new GTR if it's potential is met.
As for the "but it's not a porsche" type, hell, the money I've spent buying and modifying the GTR i could have bought a nice second hand Porsche, but i don't see the point in downgrading to gain badge bragging rights. Don't get me wrong they're great cars I'm sure, just not as suited to the GTR is to my car requirements.
Horses for courses and each to their own i guess would be fitting phrases.
