Best for the track??

Out of the three mentioned I`m guessing the 996GT3RS is the best track car. But, how close is a 996GT3 or a 996GT2? What will be needed to make all three "right" for the track. Also, which will have the strongest residual.....say, after 2-3 years?
996 GT3 RS best residuals id guess as its rarer and more collectable.
Best for track - well all 3 would be fine, especially for someone who has to ask the question!
Graham,
a Mk2 GT3 will not be far off an RS, with a track set up, decent tyres, half cage and harness. If you then get a manthey KW suspension change and K410 engine conversion you will be quicker than an RS. COme to the Porsche RS day at Oulton Park on 16th March, I know two Manthey'd 3's that will be there. Along with standard 3's and RS's, as well as Manthey'd RS's.

Never equate model range knowledge to a measure of talent, you will end up being very embarassed!!!

Thanks Stuart, I take it from that....you will be there??
from another thread:
SportAuto, Nürburgring (Nordschleife):
Porsche 996 GT2 (462hp) ------------------------------ 7.46 min
Porsche 996 GT3 RS ----------------------------------------- 7.47 min
Porsche 996 GT3 MK2 ------------------------------- 7.54 min
perhaps you need to define what you mean by best track car?
depends if your preference is turbo or n/a

Production No's as follows:
996 GT3RS
119 RHD UK Cars (2003/4)
996 GT2
16 RHD UK Cars (2001)
66 RHD UK Cars (2002)
31 RHD UK Cars (2003)
16 RHD UK Cars (2002) Total 129
Bearing in mind that quite a few of these cars have been written off, I would guess that residuals on both the above mentioned cars will be very strong in the near future.
