How do you delete text messages that appear on the Tom Tom 700? I cannot seem to do it and there seems no mention in the handbook?

well IIRC as ive just returned my 2 day old TT510 as the cradle was faulty..............
I went to the phone options and somewhere in there was an option to delete the numbers, calls, texts etc
This was the 510 but i assume its much the same, i just ticked the boxes that i wanted to erase and all was cleared

Completely off track:

1)Your TomTom tells you where you are (obviously: not a lot of good otherwise!!)

2) If you have a TomTom buddy, he can know where you are.

3) That implies that the data goes both ways

4) Does that therefore mean that via satnav, data can be collected with regard to your movements (and speed?)

So, anyway, is nobody else concerned about this?

not that I have a guilty conscience

Steve d, thanks for the advice, but when i go into main menu, mobile phone, all i get is redial, call, get phone numbers, connect to phone, change home number and read/write messages. Read / write messages give no option to delete as far as i can see? The only way i seem to have found to delete is to push the reset button underneath. Bizzare.

What version of software are you on? I'm at 6.150.
The other possibility is go:-
Main
change pref
Scroll through the pages to (poss) 7of7
Top right may show either 'Show more menu options' or 'show fewer menu options'

If it says 'show more' then this may be why you are not seeing the 'Phone preferences' I am seeing.

I think it more likely it is software version.

think my version is "app 5.410 )? GPS is v1.21. Had it nearly a year so maybe the problem. Whatever, it seems to bear no resemblence to yours! I do not have the "show more options" menu.

No, it has to use a phone to do this, and you have to authorise it, or simply don't activate it!
