...will be to take my bike for its first service on Saturday. Only one problem, it has been sat in the (warm and dry) dining room over winter paperbag. Now is there anything I should check before I manhandle it out of the patio doors apart from:

Tyre pressures
Flat spots on the tyres
Fluid levels
Battery

As it has only done 450 miles (another paperbag) I don't think there will be any problems with the chain or mechanicals really, but just thought I would check so any suggestions appreciated!

Cheers

Ace-T

Mate, I haven't got a clue, but I'd just like to say "nice-one" for keeping it in the dining room!! How is the Mrs with this? Must make for some interesting dinner party conversations!!

Petrol may have gone off a bit. Ensure that the brakes work properly and that the pistons haven’t seized in the callipers.

Take it easy for the first few miles (both for you and for the bike!) and build up gently. Let’s hope the weather is good and that you can have some fun.

I'd love to have an RC30 in my living room - just to drool over before going out for a ride on the 'Bird

Yeah it is the 'missus' Ferrari in the garage that is taking up all the goddamn space! It was a deal, he got an entertaining car I got a motorbike. thumbup Worked for me as I get to drive the car!

Thanks for the advice chaps, I will take it very easy and sensibly anyway cos I am frankly a bit crap at this bike riding thing (I really wanted to get on a bike and ride like Rossi straight away rolleyes needless to say that was not the case). Hopefully now we are getting to spring I will get better the more I ride it. (Still terrified of right hand turns though paperbag)

You know, it detracts somewhat from the hairy-arsed image of biking that a female posts the words 'first ride' and there is not one single double-entendre, ribald remark or lewd offer. Have you lot spent too long on Virago's, bedecked with custom luggage and strewn with tasselled jackets and laced leather trousers or summat?

Um... I bailed... paperbag An Unfortunate Series of Events starting with my friend developing a nasty tooth abscess which meant she could not ride up with me (she is a former instructor), followed by an extremely shite afternoon at work leading to too much alchohol last night. Woke up this morning, felt too sorry for myself to get up so slept in (if you see what I mean sperm cloud9 hehe) and took the red car out for a spin this afternoon.

Went by a bike shop and bought myself some winter gloves though thumbup and rebooked for mid March

Ace-T

Hope there was enough innuendo in there for {a} Wedgie hehe
