..done the UK-Monaco Top Gear-type trek?
I've got GP tickets for May and was wondering if there were any areas I should keep away from in terms of travelling through France?
I've noticed you can go through Paris or Reims as an alternative. I'll be going through Paris in the early hours so it probably won't be too busy, but I wouldn't mind trying to find the road they used to use for the Reims GP in the 1960's (does it even still exist?).
Any advice on route/gotchas would be really welcome.

I drove to Monaco the first year I owned my Noble to watch the GP.
It was a great drive, only got stopped once and I managed to talk my way out of a ticket...... :-)
I'll have to lookup the route I took, it was mostly in the dark !
You'll really enjoy the drive and the Noble really turns heads in Monaco.

You can drive round the circuit itself at the end of each day. Open to the public from about 6pm IIRC. The place is packed out on the Thurs/Sat and of course race day itself. There's not much "outskirts" to talk of and the roads that are not closed tend to be jam-packed. Maybe up past the Japanese garden the other side of Mirabeau Hotel is easiest?
Friday is a clear day at this GP - only one where practice is on the Thursday 'cos they don't permit road closures 3 days running.
Eurotunnel and all ferries are fine. Eurotunnel is just drive straight on, ferries at worse are just take at an angle the ramp.
Me, I'd do Tunnel -> Reims -> Geneva -> Mont Blanc Tunnel -> Northern Italy and then hang a right at the A8 into Monaco.
Being 2000+ meters up on a road on stilts as you come out of the Mont Blanc is one of the best roads I've been on.
