well according to mcn, so needs to be taken with a little more than a pinch of salt, but do you really think they will scrap the Fireblade, personally i think they wont and the V4 will be like the RC30 or RC45 but i would happily pay £15k or so for a 1000 V4 Honda as its pretty much a certainty that its going to be an amazing bike and also reliable.

Would be a brave move by Honda to kill off the Fireblade,(16v in-line 4) especially following Yamahas move with the R1 this year, and at £15k the replacement would have to be VERY good to sell any significant numbers.

As regards reliability, just don’t mention the early V4 cams!!!

Isn't it a V5 not 4?

And the earlier 06 blades were fine just over geared, go up two teeth on teh rear and they bark like a rabid dog if you want them to.

i was planning on chopping my RRY in for a RR4 UNTIL i rode one..my RRY has more charactor and doesnt get left behind by any of my mates more modern liter class sportsbikes so ive stuck with her...but i'd seriously consider gettibg a V4 if only HONDA would give us the option

the RR6 is much more lively than the RR4 but i agree i used to have a 954 RR3 (the slightly updated version of yours i think) and it was a wonderful bike, i still miss it now.
