Location / background for car pic?
Discussion
Right, want a bit of advice from the PH experts.
I need to find a good backdrop at- or close-to-home (anywhere c.10mins from J2 M6, if that helps), for a few pics of my car. Will explain all in the near future (assuming it comes off), but want something which won't take attention away from the car, but which will look better than a lawn that needs mowing and a dilapidated fence.
Current thoughts are:
- rolling fields (bit naff now?)
- modern glass building front (but can't think of any off the top of my head)
- wide-empty car park (lot naff?)
So as you can see my imagination isn't exactly on-fire. Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks,
Martin.
PS - a beer or two is in it for the winning suggestion if things go to plan.

magna park off the a5 or the area around lutterworth?
or the post office training place off junc 1 of the m6 heading north to m1 after about half a mile old building large open grounds, mature trees
halfruads car park just down the road or asda
if you could get in the gravel pits down the a5 bit far

Thanks. Read it before but useful to refresh.
No tracks close enough (not even Mallory), and not sure I'll have time to get as far as Magna Park, but there's a small business park just down from J2...some quiet straight roads that might make for an interesting shot, particularly using the road markings to lead into the car.
Other thought was park the car at an angle at the road-end of our accessway, as if it's just emerging from it (we have a long 'drive' which runs down the back of everyone's houses).
Given the 'put it in the right context' advice, a car-park might be a bit mundane for a soft-top sports car, so 'open road' might be more appropriate...which brings me back to countryside. Will have to go for a drive on Sunday, as found a nice 'lane' to take photos of the 'teg on, but that was down in Kent.
Maybe this would be more appropriate...shame it's 30mins away...

1) Trying to think of the large hotel on the A5 nr Hinckley, used to go to AVRO exhibition there. Had open car park but on various levels.
2) National Motorcyle Museum (assuming they have done something since the fire)
3) Stoneleigh - National Agricultural Centre.
4) British Heritage - Gaydon
5) NEC or Birmingham International

I know the one you mean...went there on a works do...not a bad suggestion.
Aside from stoneleigh, others are too far...want a clean car to photograph!!!
Anyway, I think it's now decided as Coombe Abbey driveway...as long as it's quiet enough early Monday morning...
Thanks all for the advice!

Martin,
Wroxall Abbey has a long driveway that might be suitable. Its just between Knowle and Warwick.
