Griff LE's with 03 Plates

Hi Peter,
tried to e-mail you but couldn't ..........number 64 in nightfire red was definitely an 03 - plate, registered in June 2003.
I have a HPI certificate for it which gives the date of reg and the number. It may well be the last one registered.
Did you get your door paint sorted?

Mine is number 65 and was registered on 4th July 2003.
Sat in Henley Heritage for a while before being sold. It had a horrible colour interior by all accounts which is why presummably it didn`t sell.The original owner who brought it had it sent back to the factory to have it totally re-trimmed, before taking delivery of it.

Something seems wrong here, as I met the owner of number 64 at the 2006 Growl, and it is a 51 plate and Dark Green. See www.griffith500se.co.uk/car3ebc.html?id=64
Are you meaning number 65 which is Nightfire Red (see S6 ROR post)? See www.griffith500se.co.uk/carf8d4.html?id=65

Number 65 it is................I was going to buy it from the previous owner(who bought it from Mole Valley a couple of years ago), but the week I was going to do the deal my wife had a health scare, which turned out to be nothing, but by the time I re-focussed on the car it had gone to the guy who has it now.
Anyway sorry for any confusion.
I am reliably informed it WAS the last Griff ever registered.
It spent the first two years after registration in Scotland.

I first saw it advertised in the back of Autocar. I was actually on my way down to Fernhurst to look at another SE Griff when I rang him. He said that he thought that the car was sold, ie to yourself, but was awaiting confirmation.
So, I put it out of my mind and carried on to Fernies. Ended up not buying the SE that i went to look at,but a 98 Paris Blue Griff that was also in Fernies showroom at that time.
I had literally only took delivery of the Griff for approx four days, and the chap from the Autocar ad rang me to say that he thought that the deal had fallen through and was i still interested in buying the car. Oh my god, what a delema, I just had to go and have a look as it sounded just to good to be true. So, travelled down to see it, and realised that it was the one, just couldn`t fault it.
So, back on the phone to Fernies, explained the situation and ask if they would take the car back and try to re sell it, which they agreed to do. So, I went ahead and brought the Red Griff No 65 and kept my fingers crossed that the blue one sold, which it did last week funnily enough to a chap in the Reading area.
So, at the end of the day it did cost me to get the desired result, but I am absolutely delighted with the car.

sorry if I caused you any aggro. My wife's health had to come first.....she has had a couple of these breast lumps, and with the big C you can't take any chances.
Anyway, I'm chuffed to bits for you and really glad you are enjoying the car.
We had a stunning 2000(V) Halcyon Midas griff which we sold when we went to South Africa in 2002, with 6K on the clock.
We were offered it back in 2004, but didn't have anywhere to keep it, so we passed on it, and then last year, after the episode with your car, I finally tracked her down.......still only 11000 miles, but a cat D.
I spoke to the bloke about buying it but he won't sell.
So we are still on the lookout. Decided on an SE- will happily pay 24 for yours, as in my opinion it is the best one I have seen(armorfend et al).
Anyway, all the best.........might see you at the growl.
