Very easy, there are two prongs on the back of the badge, they should be an interference fit with the plastic 'stoppers in the holes in the bonnet. Its just a pusch fit

Or get a sticker "porsche Badge" Like on the RS series. The worst they can do then is peel it off rather than smash it off..makes sence.

mine is the bolted on type (well castellated nut things that screw on).
it means the little darlings can't get the badge off.....
If you have to fit this type the front badge panel has to come off to get to the back of the nuts.
It's an easy 5 minute job, lift the bonnet and take out the self tappers along the back edge, raise the lights and undo the 2 small bolts you can see with the big washers on either side, finally there are another couple of hidden 10mm bolts going horizontally into the wing behind the rubber light trims (you should have them under the lights just pull them backwards to get them out) the 2 hidden bolts go through the spacing washer type thing you can see between the front of the wing and the narrowest part of the front panel.(you need a long socket or thin extension with a wobbly drive to get there out but it can be done)
then just lift the back of the badge panel and slide gently forward taking care not to damage the paintwork.

Might as well have a look at the air filter when you're there!

Iv just removed my bonnet badge to replace the rubber behind it,you only need a 8mm socket and just un-screw the nuts at the rear of the badge.

Cheers guy's

Got a feeling I'm going to have to take the badge panel off (as per SilverS2's post).

Bloody inconvenience, but its got to be done.

Thanks again

Well after some little scrote nicked the badge off the front of the '44 last week my replacement has arrived.

I'm just debating though whether to just push the new one on and forget about the fastening bolts on the back, as if they try it again they might do even more damage if the bolts are present.

Can anyone see it being a problem leaving the bolts off of the back and just relying on the pins to hold it in place?

This is not me being lazy and not wanting to take the whole badge panel off! honestly.

Thanks

Alex

I had mine nicked a while back. Hope this isn't coming back in fashion with the kids, ala the beasty boys back in the 80's!

the push fit badges have a couple of plastic grommets in the holes to hold the pins on the back of the badge, if these arent there you will have to find sone way of keeping the badge in place (blu tack?)
I did think of this for the damage possibility you've mentioned but decided I'd rather keep my badge where it is and deprive some little towrag of his trophy, regardless of the possible consequences.
tough decision..
Andy.

Cheers Andy

I have pushed it on for now. The retaining holes in the panel seem quite tight.

We shall see how long this one lasts
