It means either the glove box or centre console thingy isn't closed properly.

Cheers, unfotunately it still does it though, I have had an ipod link but in gove box so looks like it will always do this now. Does it effect the alarm at all?

Have you checked the engine and boot lid too? I think the beep basically means 'something' isn't shut properly, I used to get this on my old C2, generally giving the centre console a good slam shut solved it. I don't think it affects the alarm being armed but worth checking.

mine did this too. pull the stereo out again, make sure the sticker on the side of the stereo is pressed down flat when you put it back in.

itll be fine after that chum.

theres a sticker on the side of the stereo, it covers some form of electrical contact, god alone knows why. anyhoo, if when you shove the stereo back in, this isnt down flush, the alarm will sense that something is wrong. my alarm used to go off if this wasnt right.

pull the stereo again, smooth it down and push it all back in gently and slowly.

even if the stickers not there, pull the stereo and try replacing it slowly and carefully. itll work, i promise.

I have had a new stereo fitted today an alpine one so you think the actual head unit may not be in all the way ?

Sounds like the fitters have spliced into your system somehere causing the alarm to sense an open switch somewhere.
A bit citroen saxo mate.

pull it, have a look in the dash. there will be a prongy thing that tries to tessolate with whatever the feck that sticker aperture does. maybe its making an earth with the cage of your new head unit. if so, bend it back, youve no longer any need of it. i suspect its something to do with an anti theft idea, ie when the connection is made/ broken, the alarm senses that the stereo is being nicked.

of course, youd have to get through the doors and IR sensors first, but thats not the point.

I know its in your Pork Woogs, take it back to the fitters and get them to sort it fella,
its probably just one earth wire into the interior light negative rather than straight to the body.
