3200GT clutch pedal sticky
Discussion
Hi all,
Has anyone had a problem with their clutch pedal, if released very slowly, sticking around half way up? It has only started in the last couple of days, and having crawled under the dash, it would seem to me that the spring at the top of the mechanism is perhaps in need of replacement. It is making driving a little more interesting - release clutch/ ease on throttle/ quickly put foot under clutch and pull up. Any feedback would be great, thanks.

Hi,
I have a 4200 which had similar symptoms, the clutch pedal was stiff for some time and then one day pedal hit the floor and stayed there.... was a bit of a surprise as you can imagine as I was driving in town at the time. Took it to the garage and the found the slave cylinder was faulty.. replaced the unit and its been fine ever since. Apparently a common problem on Ferrari 430's so the Service Manager at the garage said...
Also …..Found that it I stretched down and lifted the pedal with my hand that the clutch eventually came back and was able to drive to the garage…so was lucky…
Hope that helps…
Btw it’s a long job, gearbox has to be removed…yep your right expensive…

Thanks for the info - I have now worked out much the same. If the clutch is depressed too long, it will gradually engage, which means the seals in the slave are letting fluid through. I can drive the car still, but don't fancy the idea of losing my clutch completely whilst driving, so the TT is back in service for a week or so. Luckily this has occured close enough to the car being "borrowed" that the insurance company will probably cover it.
