Well, in a roundabout sort of way.

The Autosport website is proudly trumpeting that it'll be covering MotoGP this year, which amused me no end. Autosport's coverage of any form of non-F1 car racing coverage is pretty woeful so, rather than spending a little more time on the dozens of other very popular car-based series in the world, they've decided to try and cash in on the popularity of bike racing instead.

If I want bike coverage, I'll use a bike webisite, rather than supporting this cynical little exercise - which you'll have to pay for, incidentally. I, like many others, stopped buying Autosport because it sees everything non-F1 as a mere annoyance.

It's late and I've had a drink, but looking at Autosport.com's homepage irritated me a bit.

Stange that! I was looking at all that NASCART shite last night and thought "I must cancel my subscription". Today I'm throwing away the back issues - I hardly bother to read the latest one let alone the old ones. And as it's shiney you cant even use it as toilet paper.

Will this MotoGP section be subscription only or like they have found since introducing the website subscription service a while back that it loses viewers and they have to relent and give free content as well?

I know that is what I was talking about, they had relented. Plus adding free news content for all without time limitations that was previously subscription only.

That's a given.

That's complete rubbish, unless it's F1 coverage.

Nah, racing needs dicing + speed: Whilst karting has dicing, it lacks speed.

I reckon the roundabout is in Milton Keynes and you're in southern Africa somewhere!

It seems to me that haymarket are trying to introduce Moto GP and shortly it will appear in Autosport.
I will cancel my subscription on the same day.
Haymarket seem incapable of clear divide between there publications with 2 mags giving poor cover of the same sport, witnes Autosport and MSN joint failure to cover UK racing.
No body in the organisation views the big picture and clear divide, oh for a rival publisher to do a decent job, the coverage and circulation is there for the taking.

The day Autosport starts writing about 2 wheels will be the day that a large following leave them...

Keep to what you know best and are best known for.

It won't be long before they introduce a "Footballers' Cars" column - or possibly even a "Footballers' WAG's Cars" column.

Mass circulation is the aim of the game, not relevant content.

They're probably getting hosed by internet news websites. It's no wonder they want to diversify.
