Hi all, can anyone help me, my drivers side mirror has broken off, the column has snapped and needs replacing, is it possible to get a new one or does it mean a new mirror? i also need a new glass for it. The body of the mirror is ok so i am hoping not to have to replace the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated. By the way it is a 94 Chim 400 in Brooklands Racing Green (i think)

Summit (BigAL is connected IIRC) do replacement glass.

The 'tower' is commonly known as a tripod and is available separately from TVR dealers. There may be one floating around e-bay at the mo (nah that was cr@p I'm senile!) ~ TVR price only @£8 IIRC, they are not handed.

the tripod is about £12 inc vat and shipping from tvrcarparts.com IIRC. But make sure its just the tripod. I thought mine had broken, but on removing the glass I could see that the internal part of the housing that the tripod attaches to was broken. In the end I bought a complete new unit, including motors and mirror for £80 off ebay (inc shipping) then another £100 to have is sprayed up and fitted, including rewiring to match the random TVR wiring in my Chim.

you could always take the mirror off turn it upside down, match the parts up where they have broken and fill it with fibreglass resin....i have had mine fixed like that for nearly two year with no problem at all...in fact that mirror vibrates less than the other one....just for the record though i am going to replce this mirror as well in the next couple of weeks.

I think you'll find they are citroen CX (late) with a few large 'O' rigs
According to chimaera pages
www.chimaerapages.com/resources_partslist.php
I'm sure i've read this somewhere else as well.
you could probably get them from a motor factor fairly cheep.
