I have a choice, get a new Berlingo HDI and keep my Duke and the other few bikes I have or run the old Seat Inca til it dies and get a new Harley Streetbob(FXDX) and keep the other bikes.
In a few years the Berlingo would have 200,000 miles and be worthless but the Hog would still be worth quite a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$
I know in my heart what I should do but what do ye think I should do?

FXDB is the Street Bob....

Don't discount the other bikes in the Dyna range.

I wanted a Bob, but ended up buying a Super Glide Custom instead.
I just knew with the Bob I would spend too much modding it, with red powder coated wheels, lots of black powder coating to replace all the chrome, scalloped/pin striping on the tin, blah, blah etc, plus I found the seat height on the Bob a bit low with me long legs. I also hated the ape hanger bars.

What are the other bikes...?

200k on a Berlingo would be a remarkable achievment.....eek

Personally I like the Bob because of its stripped down look, personally I would just get an exhaust and a shotgun seat and leave it at that, doesnt the Bob already have a mostly blacked out engine. I'd say I will be comfortable on a Bob though because I aint a Giant. I like the Bob because it looks like its come straight from the badlands. I wont discount any Glide until I am buying and then I will make my mind up fully.

There arent really any other bikes except maybe a Ducati monster s4rs, 749r, maybe a new 848 if I can wait but I'd say it will be a Hog.

I was thinking about something that size: Transit Connect etc.

Thanks,

Yes the Bob has the blacked out motor, but they look even better de-chromed with all the chrome stuff powder coated black, bars, forks, rims etc...

Be aware that, you can't just change the exhaust on the 07 onwards Twin-Cam engined HD's, (Dyna's, Softtails etc) as they have the two 02 sensors and the active intake and exhaust valves to comply with the Euro whotzit emissions noise fun police regs....

Because the US bikes don't have this stuff, the US aftermarket exhaust makers haven't as yet bothered to make any Euro specific exhaust systems.
You can fit unrestricted slip-on mufflers, but if you really want to change the whole exhaust you will have to fit a piggy-back ECU such as a PCIII. The trouble then is most, if not all, UK Harley dealers won't want to know about a bike fitted with a PCIII so you'll have a problem should you need to make use of the warrenty.

Monster S4RS.....hmmmmm, oh yes loverly. I used to have a Monster 750 which was stolen, and I really thought about getting another one, but the newer Monster's seem really different to the older ones, and I just didn't feel as comfortable in terms of riding position on a newer one as I did on my old M750.
Ducati, Harley and Triumph are the only manufacturer's I've got any interest in, so I decided to go the Harley route and bought the FXDC.

Yup, never got my head around the 'Ape Hanger' bars concept......I thought they were awful to use when I rode a Bob.

The rest of that bike is nice though.....just needs a bar change
