I fitted a decent breather system to my car over the winter. It was just vented to atmo' through the rocker box caps. Now the weather has improved I have been able to get the car out and enjoy it a few times.

I have noticed that the amount of oil it uses has come down. I must say, it was a little high before, but there is a tangible drop off.

Which is nice!

Paul.

Edited to add ...... Don't tell me, they all do that, just before a MAJOR DETONATION!

Paul

Perhaps you are driving slower as you get used to the power again and so oil consumption has gone done. Once again just trying to help

Back to the point.
How many miles on the engine? It may just be that the rings have finally bedded in.

agree with STEVE D, I was recomended to run 15/50 as I have roller cam with solid lifters. I think 20/50 is normal for a high performance chevy.

The lighter oil may have prelonged the rings beding in.
I say MAY as I know what a stickler for detail you are and you might have run the engine in on a different oil.

May I ask how much oil it did and now consumes.

I've not had time to measure the consuption now. It just seems markedly lower. Which is nice

See you all Sunday? Maybe this will give me a chance to take some measurements!
