As we were watching Top Gear, she asked me if I thought it would be a good idea to put the Griff chassis in the lounge so I could paint it in a warm & dry environment instead of the slightly damp garage!

I think she's fantastic!

having had a bit of a windfall (My nan died at the age of 94), I suggested to wifey that we could move to a house near her mother's that was for sale (but still we would have had to extend our mortgage a few years and pay more per month)

Wifey saw right through the simple fact that the integral double garage had a door to the hall and the other side of the hall was the lounge. She found all number of reasons why it was not for us.

Looks like I've been rumbled.

The catch (so far) is that once the car is back together, I get to drive it for one week then I have to give it back to her. On the other hand, she has tentatively agreed that I can have a Cerbera...

Suppose the lounge is OK, but would suggest the Kitchen would be better because that is normally where the oven is. Paint sticks on to the wishbones and other parts a lot better if it is baked in the oven at about 50c or so for half an hour. Apparently you can also use the oven for cooking things as well.

It will be much more comfortable for me to supervise the painting of the chassis in the lounge than in a cold wet garage several miles away. I will also be able to monitor the distractions.
I do wonder these days why I bother calling Norbert my car as it seems to be dnb’s project and test bed.
