Both Brunters and Elvington are nolonger accepting individuals and I really need to finish off some on road mapping. Unfortunately I just cant be done on the M6...

Anyone know of other airfields that will rent out to the public?

North Weald? Not sure if they let you use the runway though.
Abingdon, Longcross and Dunsfold (aka the Top Gear test track) also spring to mind.

Have you tried Andy Fearns at Silverstone 01327856993? He has mapped quite a few PHers very modified porsches, on a closed track obviously. Suggest you give him a call.

Motorsport Events use airfield circuits all the time.

Can't you arrange something through them?

Unfortunately, all has to be done on road now. We've finished all we can do on the dyno.

I'll try some of the above, thanks.

You could enter one of the sprints held there but doubt that would be suitable for Ultra's requirements.

Really?!? I took part in the Cheftian Sprint there a couple of years ago and thought the venue was still in use? Be a shame if not - the 'Snake' was awesome!

There are still sprints and rallies on the site, and Porsche GB amoungst others use it for customer demonstration days (997 GT3's galore hehe ) . However, if one person wants to rent it its ALOT harder to get on.

Even the sprints and rallies it seems are over, see the thread in general motorsport.

Whatever airfield you end up using, make sure you get there via the M45. Don't get lost though or you might end up going back and forth down it several times.

If I were to get lost on these roads would it be easy to spot a officer of the law, should I need to get "un-lost"...

unfortunately there is so little traffic on either road you'll be unlikely to see any police. both are pretty short though so you can easily turn round and go back for another look.

Turweston near Silverstone. We use it for shakedowns. usually £35 for an hour
If your thinking of getting Andy Fearns to do it, you will need to chain him to your car and take away his phone, then you might hold his attention.!

IIRC Turweston has quite a short runway ? We used it once when I was at Reynard. Worth a call though.
