Should do. If they are the same as the other SP6 boxes.

looks good, will they be giving a before/after performance comparison as it looks the same as standard item but carbon?

noise difference?

Once my car is back together we will be able to get the full performance data as I have the option with the trumpets etc.

The quality is stunning and the photos dont do it justice.

Be nice to get my car back after 4 months !!!

that looks awsome, although i'd want to remove my bonnet to show it off! on a serious note it should bend / warp less than the original?

Without an appreciable improvement in performance and sound its a hell of a chunk of cash for something cosmetic.

Theres a german guy who made something very similar and completed it with a cold air induction kit. If i remember correctly he claimed somewhere between a 15 and 20 HP gain for his system. It was advertised in the german TVRCC-magazine. He also said that the original TVR-airbox wasn`t really airtight.
You can contact him trough tvr-deutschland.com even if this particular product is not yet on that homepage.

Cheers Jens

Not cosmetic. It actually does what the TVR one does not.... filter the air.

The one we took of was not even square so air was getting in all round (common apparently). In addition the standard ones are very thin and fracture on the stub pipes and the casing.

Find out how much TVR will charge for a 'standard' one before you decide that it is poor value.

Hi BigGriff,

Do you know if the product (with trumpets) is easy to fit?

Is a re-map required after fitting?

Its a straightforward fit.

The best way to get the improvement is to have a remap at somewhere like Austec like you would with any modification. You will get the maximum out of it then, but even without the engine will breath more easily and with the novelty of filtered air!!

Once mine is remapped I will post the results and we can get an idea of the improvement level.

Tim at ACT is also looking to add a cold air inlet pipe. Once that is available I will fit that as the TVR one is not nice!

Looks very nice indeed. I will await the performance results with much anticipation driving

It looks like the air inlet is still point downwards - is this the case? Is this optimal? Are there any other options apart from cutting a hole in the front panel and having a more horizontal pipe?

This is good stuff! Continuing in the vein of providing better-than-OE replacement parts.

To paraphrase a T-shirt classic: "Old TVRs never die, they go faster"

That's my view as well. I love my TVR's and always try to improve them. If my hobby benefits others than that's great.

Wait until you see the next bits...............

Hmm. Personally, not sure about any real-world gains with that. The existing set up is unusual but may be just as effective, as it most certainly effectively picks up cold air from beneath the car.

The std set-up doesn't have any 'ram air' effect, but any research will show that actual gains from ram-air alone below 200mph are tiny, any real gains are just from avoiding hot underbonnet air, which it already does.

A cold air intake at the front of the box will favour the front cylinders over the rear as well I think, unless restrictions are added. Not good.

Guess it needs full scientific testing to prove out, but I'm sceptical that it's a step too far I'm afraid.

(this relates to T350 pickup from chassis level - not sure Tuscans are same)

Would look great for Tamora, T350 , Speed 6 Cerb & Sagaris you can see it, but Tuscans no .
One good point it wont melt so thats always a good thing laugh
As for ram air i have had this for 6 years and i can say responce at over 4000rpm or over 100mph is stagering concidering standard unit acts as a vacuum sucking air out as engine is trying to draw air up from ground level (ie chimney up side down)
People can be sceptible ,and to be honest only small gains in BHP are seen but- when you hit the loud peddle out of any long or short corner say on track its amazing driving
