RESPRAY COST?

Hi all,any idea how much it would cost to get a good respray?

I got my Cerb done last September on advice from HHC TVR ( Hexham Motor Body Repair) I and many other think its a great finish, cost me just under 3K

Paint is paint, just cos its a TVR doesnt mean you should pay more than anything else. Maybe on flip paint cos its expensive and hard to work with. But a solid paint or metalic why pay more than say a Toyota Avensis? Less fitting and trim parts actualy ( Door handles etc.)

Cheers, i was thinking of that lemon coloured one and getting it resprayed. but that bwould bump up ythe cost to approx 13k and may as well buy one i already like.

The paint can cost quiet a bit, chameleon and reflex are the most expensive and a pig to match up. Pick an eye catching paint, that you can match up and get hold of easy enough.

it depends where in the country you are. I'm in essex and had a porsche 944 fully painted by a local friend of a friends bodyshop for £750 cash. They then did my Chimaera frontend and boot for £450, I'll soon be getting them to do my whole Cerbera. Not sure of price yet but it cant be that much difference in price. I know it sounds cheap but they did an excellent job on the past two repaints for me. If anyone wants the details PM me. cheers, steve

A colour change re-spray is expensive to do properly. My car has had this done, but it was part of the purchase deal, so I have no price as such, but I was told in the region of 3k or more. You would never know the car has changed colour, but then they (www.newlunperformance.com) virtually dismantled it to spray it:

Doors off & dismantled (The inner section needs to be removed from the outer and sprayed separately)
Boot & Bonnet off & sprayed separately
Windscreen & rear window out
All lights & perspex covers removed
All trim removed & replaced with new. (The Carbon trim pieces on A pillar and under rear window are about £140.00 or so)
Panel between engine & rad removed & sprayed separately.

In the end, the basic shell is sprayed along with about 8 separate panels. The whole thing was put back together with all trim & seals replaced. Top job, but with all that labour, not cheap!
