Brake Upgrades for a 350Z

I have had my 350Z for a month now and I am starting to think of the finer weather and the odd trackday or two, but being a relatively heavy coupe I am wondering how the brakes might cope.
Can you just change to more track focused pads all round? Or do you need to completely upgrade the disks & pads?
Would love to hear comments from anyone who has tracked their Z.

The brakes will fade fast on track or fast road applications, guarenteed! They're good, but as you say it's a heavy car and repeated hard braking in a short space of time soon gets them beaten.
Cheapest way to get big improvements is to change the pads for something like ferodo DS2500's and stick a set of braided lines on. Perhaps even some better fluid
easily done for not a lot of money.
Or there's the more expensive way, which is to get some meatier pads, larger disks, pads, fluid and lines changed.
Various tuners can supply them, and the price differences can be big.
Apex performance parts are a K-Sport dealer, who make some really sweet 8-pots with 356mm disks in kit form, which you can get for around the grand mark.
Other options are Brembo, AP, Stoptech etc. anywhere from 1000-2500 really depending what you want.
The latter option really will give you some great braking power, and they won't fade easily at all. The difference they make is unreal. Well worth the expense in my opinion.

I went on a track day at Bedford just before Christmas in my 350z and even in the pouring rain had brake fade. A quick scout through the forums and Nissan servicing manuals shows that Nissan use Dot 3 fluid in the brakes!
I spent last weekend fitting Ferodo DS2500 pads, EBC dimpled and grooved discs and changed the fluid for Motul RBF600 (Dot 4 but is supposed to be more resistant to heat than Dot 5.1). After a quick run to bed them in they feel so much better - I bled plenty of air which was probably my main problem. I'm off to Italy with a fairly laden car in June so want to make sure the brakes are at their best, as there are a few alpine passes on the way that would be rude to miss out on!
I sourced the discs from www.brakes4u.co.uk , the pads from bigphil (member on www.350z-uk.com) and the fluid from ebay. Total cost was around £500.
