Last I heard was that they were planning on opening the line in August 2007, so should be up and running for next year's 24hrs.

Yes, town here is still a nightmare and anyone who ventures in with a classic car will, I'm sure, overheat and break down (car and driver) before they get far. The traffic lights before Carrefour are an absolute disaster and on a normal day can take up to 30 mins to negotiate even off peak. Just imagine what it will be like in race week! The price of the tram ticket has been announced at €1.30 each way from Antares (the flying saucer on the right after Tertre Rouge) into the town centre and there is free parking there for all. From next year it will be the best way to get in either for the scrutineering or the parade. For this year just suffer the bus.

Cycling into town last year was literally a pain in the *rse, so we're taking a Yamaha stepthru on the truck, pennies to buy and a whole lot easier than buses and /or peddling.
