Laptop ( again sorry)
Discussion
Currently have a thinkpad r51 and despite being "rugged" I would like to upgrade. Requirements are
weight - as light as possible
speed, very quick to start up and shut down ( a problem on the think pad)
substantial memory
reasonable for dvd games etc.
stylish
vista
and possible this new thing, where even when the laptop is powered down you can still access emails etc through a small window on the outside casing ( gimmicky or good?)
Consider the floodgates opened ( budget flexible)
Thanks

I have one which I've just replaced with a MacBook Pro, but it's three years old and has been trailed round the country, used pretty much every day, and it's fine. Nothing's broken or failed or fallen off, and I only replaced it because I wanted one that would run Vista better. I've owned Dells and Thinkpads in the past, and I'd put the Sony on a par with the Thinkpad and way above the Dell for sturdiness and longevity. jamieboy said:

My three year old Vaio was great, but too slow for Vista.
