Saw this for sale - hell of a lot of money - my guess is it will end up in a museum in the states

a very special car indeed - managed to win the 1967 Marathon de la Route without putting a single mile on the speedo confused

does look lovely though.

No doubt. Probably in Alabama, where some guy will restore it to such an intense state of brilliance that it can be seen from space. He'll then potter 'round in it at invitation-only events, squeezed into a Porsche race suit 6 sizes too small for him, whilst shouting things like "I jess gatta tell ya, buddy, yakyakyakketyyak...."

I saw that and assumed it was a typo. Wow, is one of those really worth that much? It hasn't even got SatNav or heated seats...

Is it really that historically significant a car to command that price?

Seems bonkers to me.

Including this one there are currently three of the 23 made for sale the Scarab (Lawrence Reventlow) car does not have the correct engin and the cullen Crab car had a replacement engin in Japan that must make this one a specal car if it is original I seem to remember a magazine mentioning that it was raced as a sportmatic and then retrofited with manual box in period?
Dont know weather the Jo siffert car sold or what it sold for?
Symbolic have had a hand in two of these so they must sell well.

...there are several Rs and S/Ts around that are not what they seem - I sometimes have to bite my tongue when a particular S/T is talked about....

The ex 1983 John Fitzpatrick 956 sold at Coys last month for less than £200k - I know which I'd rather have.....
