Hi all. Looking at a 2000 Boxster s. Just wondering if theres a good insurance company out there that do good deals. I currently have my Elise with A Plan (for £420) who are great but want £1200 for the box?? Seems a bit steep.

Im 29 and have a spotless driving history.

Thanks.

Try Elephant and Admiral - As far as i know the Elise S1 was group 17 with a Boxster S at group 19?? The jump from £420 - £1200 seems like a joke to be honest.Elephant have quoted me £800 for a 996 c4s, i am 30 with clean liscence

Why not try More Than.

I'm with them and they charged me £430.

They didn't stipulate a Tracker which quite a few other firms do.

Elephant, Admiral and Bell Direct all the way.

All part of the same group and have pretty much always come up with the cheapest quotes for all my cars.

I got a quote of £620 from Bell for my Boxster S. Although this was with off-street parking in a decent part of town.

Bell offer 10% off if you pay in a lump sum BTW.

Insurance quotes follow no discernible logic.

I have a 968 Sport insured with them. I'm 28 with no NCB and a £6k claim 6 months ago and they were by far the cheapest at £680.

Have you tried confused.com?

tried moneysupermarket.com. Got some at around £550 but from companies i'd not herd of or not herd others mention.

£600 mark is what i'm after. I'm nearly 30. I deserve cheap insurance now!!

I tried confused.com and also saw that they come up with a few names that you have never heard of. I think they are brokers which is not necessarily a negative.

Just make sure they tell you what evidence of anti theft gear they require you to supply them for the insurance to be effective.

Performance Direct came out cheapest for me; but wasted a load of time giving my details etc only to find out when all the bumph came through the post that they need evidence of the alarm that was installed. I didn't have this so had to cancel the policy and request a refund. It took ages to get the money back and then only after threats to report it to my credit card company, then they had the cheek to make a deduction on the refund for admin purposes.

give swiftcover.com a go.

their business has been built on the direct line/Churchill model of attracting the best (lowest) risks whilst still underwriting high performance cars.

At the moment the are on an agressive sales campagign and are pretty undercutting all the major motor underwiters. They have also just been bought by Axa who want to re-establish themselves as a significant player in the business, and the best way to do this is undercut the market.

Just do a search on line - it is likely they will be cheapest

N.U. Direct have been good to me in the past.....cheapest isn't always the best. Talking to a repairer last year who told me horror stories about some insurance cos. and the 'scams' they try. N.U. wasn't one of them....and this guy thought highly of them.
It's when you need them the most you have to worry....eek

I was with Privlidge and they were LOADS cheaper than everyone else, but they put it up a lot after the first year.

Now with Swiftcover. Under £500 for a 911 fully comp with protected no claims!!!!
