Hi driftdaddy,

Nice to see another silver/black R6. I've had my 99 model for almost 7 years and I have loved it. Ready for a change now though. I have my heart set on a Yellow/black R1, but at the moment I am struggling to justify it as we had a little girl in October and I've only been out twice since!

Having said that, I'm hoping to get over to Goodwood on it Sunday morning. I'll figure out how to post pics and put a couple up of mine.

Lovely bikes those 98-03 R6s. The carburation on them makes modern fuel injected bikes seem crude in comparison.

Here's a piccie of my old 2001 one

Yours is a very unusual paint scheme. I remember a grey 98-2000 scheme but not 2001 onwards. Is yours an import?

I got into biking around the time the R1 was released. I always wanted an R6 in the same blue - looked so classy compared with some if its rivals. By the time I'd got around to getting one, I went for the red, to be different.

I still reckon Yamaha have got their sportsbike styling bang-on. They are second only to the Italians, IMO.
