My 2000 Tuscan has covered 19k miles and is still on the original clutch. I have only had the car a couple of weeks and am still getting used to the sounds it makes (After owning a Chim and Elise I'm used to rattly cars), however there is one noise that bothers me:
When I'm stationary there is a rattle (very light cloncking), however when I put my foot on the clutch AND put it in gear the rattle goes away.
Has anyone else got a similar rattle, is this a sympton of the clutch about to go or have I just got a loose clutch hydraulic pipe (or something like that).
Thanks,
Chris

I've had my 2001 car about the same time. I have a whirring noise when stationary and in neutral with foot off clutch - goes away when I depress clutch suggesting it is the release bearing.
I was told 25k is max mileage for Tuscan clutch and mine is on 25k - used this as bargaining power to reduce purchase cost.

Well it had to happen - clutch went today on way back from having the throttle pots replaced! Was running perfectly (first time since I've owned it) - got 25 glorious miles out of it until I hit Cambridge city centre where the clutch began to feel spongy. After a further 1/2 mile it then began creeping with my foot on the clutch in traffic then I pulled over to a discreet place to save the embarrasment of grid locking Cambridge in rush hour. Then it went!
Oh well - I wasn't even that annoyed as I kind of expected it.

They do rattle a bit. I had an 01 with just under 20k on it and the slave cylinder went. To replace it the gearbox has to come off and once you've gone that far you may as well go the whole hog, as they say. Racing Green did mine - absolute top guys. Plate was worn to very little and will not last much more than 20k anyway.
