Evening all ... just wanted to introduce myself as a new T350(C) owner...!

Paid the deposit this afternoon and collect on Saturday... this next couple of days is going to feel like a lifetime!!

Bought a 2003 model in silver with black/red interior from Henley Heritage, 16k miles, FTVRSH, years wear and tear warranty etc.

Out of curiosity, can anybody recommend a good Independent specialist in the Berkshire area? The guys at Henley seem like a good bunch and quite competitive pricing, just want to keep my options open.

Heard filling up with petrol can be a bit of a problem, can anyone recommend a proven way of not getting soaked, or is this just another TVR myth!?!?

Also (sorry for all the questions) ... can't recall seeing a fuel gauge, is that part of the electronic display... oh, and should the wipers squeak or do they need replacing??

Thanks in advance for any advice, lookin' forward to spending some quality time on the forum

Good decision. I've had my T350C for 10 months and it's been great. I can only help with the fuel questions I'm afraid.
1) Opening the fuel filler cap very slowly should help you avoid getting splashed.
2) The fuel gauge is part of the digital display and you can scroll through from a bar chart to a numerical display of the amount of fuel in the tank. The display also gives warnings of low fuel too.

Most importantly, enjoy your new toy!!

Put the nozzle all the way into the filler then turn 90 degrees counter-clockwise. I find this works most of the time and I can fill at full speed. Keep a cloth to wipe up spills! Don't forget to close the filler - I have rolleyes

Enjoy.

Good evening its a lovely T350C your buying there its was mine and its spot on too so you should not have any problems with her, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.JUST take your time when filling up,fuel is shown as row of bars in display if you scroll through the display pages you will find amounts in litres. the wipers sometimes squeak when the glass is polished? I had no problem with them.Remember keep revs under 3000Rpm from cold till the oil temp reaches 60 degrees. Also get your self an optimate charger ,the car is wired for it you will find it in the passenger foot well under the carpet its a small socket on the end of a cable.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys

SEN, Mark at HH said that the car had been very well looked after and was a credit to the previous owner, i've not read through the receipts folder etc. (probably should've!!) but will 'get to know' the car better at the weekend. If there's anything I should know in the meantime (good or bad) i'd be very interested to hear...!

Out of interest, how long did you have the car?

Cheers

Interesting John, I was taught by the dealer I got my T350 from NOT to put the nozzle all the way in and never fill at full speed. I was also told to align the nozzle pointing towards the front of the car (is what you mean by turning 90deg counter-clockwise?), which means you need stand slightly behind the fuel cap. Opening the fuel cap slowly also helps let the pressure out of the tank without spitting.

Bradders[/quote Hi T350 Brad,we had the car for about a year the only reason we sold it we wanted another Tamora ( CONVERTABLE )it was used as a second car for the odd days out only, and holidays. We coverd about 8'000 miles with no problems other than an overheating situation which was fixed by the TVR factory its 100% ok I bought the car from Dream Machines they specked it quite high with full hide, Air Con,18" wheels, quick diff, matalic paint, and tracker,It was reg by D/Machines for a few months and then sold to their sales manageress.
The car was looked after by D/Machines only, and in my ownership at the Factory so you've got a good car there. So look after it and keep it nice.Chris.

You can be sure of that. Thanks for the post, very reassuring to hear.

Bit confused as the car is only half-leather...? ... but all the other details sound right!!

Sorry for all the questions, but can you point me in the direction of the correct Optimate Charger? The only one I could find seemed to be for lawnmowers / bikes, any suggestions gratefully received!

Cheers

It is described on the build sheet as full leather but I understand what you may mean , the lower door & seat inserts are Lamonta. Half leather only consists of seat inserts.
In your car everything but the lower door & seat inserts is leather.

I have had my Optimate for several years & just swap over to each new car.Suggest you look on the Optimate web site but also try asking Henley Heritage they may have one or be able to point you in the right direction.Lots of TVR owners have one particularly if the car is not used everyday. With it I have never been let down by a flat battery. If you want any more info on the car just let me know

I think we're talking the same thing (nozzle towards the front, handle towards the back). I fill it at whatever rate it will take, but when held like that it will usually run at full speed. I've tried with the nozzle part way in but find it usually splutters less if put in as far as it will go.
There's a lot of trial and error!

Cheers Chris ... HH are gonna sort me out an Optimate...

... gotta go back anyway as within 10 miles of leaving the dealer I'd had the Oil temp AND Water temp sender fault codes

Not the greatest start but nothing can wipe the inane grin off my face or stop me from making spurious reasons to go to my garage

Incidentally,I understand this is quite a common problem but does anyone know if this is quickly / easily fixed, and are the 'later' senders more robust?

Thanks again guys!

I'm sure the senders were replaced at the factory under warranty for the later type, yes they were.Just cancel the alarms by pulling the two levers behind the steering wheel to reset. Another common one is air/con alarm just do the same with that one too. There isn't a problem they just do that.

Cheers Chris ... so how do you know if there is a problem or if the sender's just playing up!?! confused ... I didn't want to take a chance with the water temp sender as I believe it controls the fans, and I was getting water temp warnings every 30 seconds after the original 'failure' which was a slight concern.

HH collected the car yesterday and are replacing the senders as we speak (guys have provided an excellent service), should have it back this afternoon
