indicator rate gremlin

would have addded this to my original post but cant find it !!

My nearside front indicator's rate can become hectic..first just thought the bulb had gone. Now it seems the rate of blinking is faster when I've got some throttle on. Parked up, its perfect.

any thoughts?

What would a high reading be? I've not noticed it rise with revs, if that's what you mean. Will check next time sun's out, thuogh

is close to 14v.. but doesnt quite get that high.

That sounds Ok @13.8v is max. So from previous thread everybody thinks you have a bulb out (includes side repeaters & dash)...

passed MOT t'other day so assume all bulbs ok. Will check inside pair later this evening when i leave work (used 500 as work transport today )
Still the same today (replaced 100 amp fuse & holder last night as was in a horrid way.. had slight hope might be associated) always flashes fine but with any speed it blinks like mad!!! Left only still

OK,to try & break out of this circle...

You are saying that when you rev the car to over 3000rpm the problem occurs? Or is it speed related (we normally assume this as road speed rather than engine speed )

Get someone to rev the car for you to recreate the problem, whilst you can check the dash & bulbs (or viceversa).
Then is the voltneter reading over 14v, are all the bulbs flashing?

Hi Ed, only a reduction in current draw will make the electronic flasher flash faster( it doesnt slow with more, ie hazards). If the rear bulb is ok,its got to be an earth somewhere, ie the earth is at a positive. There has to be something else not at earth though !

just sat & rev'd the car whilst indicating left, hand brake on. Minimal change in tempo.. just a single speed up flash as the revs fell down, couple of times. But as soon as I put in 1st & moved the car.. blinky blinky blink. All bulbs ok. Is not the worst fault in the worlds.. just want my car to be perfect



...indicator...shocks...bushes...drop links...chassis...retrim...rocker covers...cam upgrade...renovo...glass alignment...adamned good polish.......
