OK - So I Need Photoshop Help Now!
Discussion
I'm still trying to understand Colour Management.
Now when I have PS set to advise me about a mismatch been the embedded profile (adobe RGB from the NEF files converted to JPEGs), what should I be doing?
1 Use the embedded
2 Convert
3 Discard (i.e. don't colour manage) - I assume NOT!
Because my colour space is set for my monitor profile.
And my output will be either website or CMYK for printing....
Also - can I set up PS to autopmatically do the same thing each time rather than keep asking me (I'm being thick here but can't see how to do that!)

Slightly off topic;
I'm getting more and more pleased with Lightroom, since it seems to be designed to "do the right thing" as far as colour space management is concerned. You can easily setup a number of export presets for your final destinations and specify image size, colour space, program to run after export etc. I have one for Pistonheads that converts to sRGB, sized to 750 pixel max. I can then run this on any supported file type - jpeg, raw, psd - and it just works.

I don't think you can automate it as PS doesn't know where you will send the files after you've finished with them

You need to match the colour space to the output ie. change toCYMK for printing etc. I don't think you can automate it as PS doesn't know where you will send the files after you've finished with them.

Hmm! Not sure I do want to change it to CMYK at this stage - I'm talking about opening it in Photoshop. I know what you mean about it being converted to CMYK at the end of the process, though.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
