03 Facelift Boxster S camshaft issues?

Sorry if this ones been done before im fairly new to the forum.
Im looking to buy an 03 plated Boxster S. I've a number of owners im in contact with about buying their cars. I've done a fair bit of research so know about the RMS issues, clutches, the OPC warranty system and how it affects values/if its worth having, potential bils etc...
One of the owners im in contact with mentioned that while his car was in for RMS and clutch that an issue was found with the camshafts and this was rectified under warranty last year. After a bit of digging im hearing about a few cars having similar problems but finding little technical info.
Is this common? Once fixed is it done with any redesigned parts to engineer out whatever the problem may be, or are you still at risk of developing the same problem again as any other car. This particular car has done more miles than others im considering but has a far higher spec. If this problem is erradicated on this car but could potentially occur on the lower mileage one it makes this one the more attractive regarless of the extra miles.
