Shelsey Walsh / Presott Hillclimb Entry

How does one get an entry in either Shelsey or Prescott Hilclimbs, done a gew years sprinting & fanct giving hillclimbs a go, have entered ASEMS Sprint & Hillclimb Championship this year.
So far I plan to enter
Colerne Sprint - 7th May
Llandow Sprint - 28th May
Longleate Hillclimb - 23rd September
Castle Combe Sprint - 20th October
Would like a couple more events, ideally hillclambs at Shelsey or Prescott to fill in the gap between May-September

Hows the new suspension working out on the Mighty Metro?

I'm guessing it's cost me about £3k all in so far.
Building a new engine at the moment so that's not ganna be cheap & may not be finished till next year.
I wouldn't bother, You'd never make it up there in that!!!!!

A inch of rain must have come down while I was sitting in the startline queue. I had to drill holes in the floor to get the water out. We're back there agin on 22nd July. *Please* let it be dry.

if you really want an entry to prescott, they always seem to look favourably on members of the BOC, so it might be worth joining to get an entry. either that or join a championship that has a round there. i think the chances of a stand alone entry are pretty slim otherwise. my mate who i mechanic for got knocked back a few times, so he joined the BOC and then got an entry. he doesn't normally do a full on championship, just a few rounds for fun, so this was the best way to get an entry.
this year though he's in the midland hillclimb championship, so we'll have to see how the entries go.

It was glorious the day before, and after. It was OK for practice, but it absolutely *hammered* down for first timed. We must have had about an inch; there was water running across the road, one of the racing Tuscans (with no wipers) had to stop halfway up, 'cos he couldn't see, and one of the Cerberas went "over the top" at Semicircle. I was bloody glad I took my paddock shelter that day - we stayed dry and made a lot of new friends!

Getting entries to some of these venues is difficult, but here a few tips:
1) Enter a championship and enter the event when your championship visits the venue.
2) Many venues love specials so if your car is a bit different enclose a photo.
I was very surprised when I got an entry to Shelsley, I did both of the above though. It was a great day, an early morning blast from Leeds, 4 runs up the hill and then a return journey to Leeds. About 150 secs of competing and 7 hours of driving to do it but worth it!
