Someone I know works with a foreign national who regularly lets his 15 year old son drive his knackered car on errands (like to Stansted this morning to collect his girlfriend off a flight). Apparently it's brakes are so knackered they stop it on the handbrake.

Chances of it being taxed and insured... slim I'd say.

What would you do armed with this info?

Cut the handbrake cable?

DO NOT DO THIS, I WAS KIDDING

Quiet word in his ear? Note on the car, "Next time I see the lad driving I'll call the police"?

Quiet and tactful word with mum and dad... promising (and following up on) a quiet and tactful word with the DVLA if it isn't sorted out.

A word with the police if it were me.Sorry but i dont agree with all this a quiet word stuff.I do not want this uninsured underage driver or any other crashing into my car.Think of the hassle you would have if it were you,its your insurance you will end up claiming off.

What is the index of the car and I will sort now?

Or would you rather the scrote hits your mum when she is crossing the road slowly as the car didnt stop in time. Uninsured, underage little g1t.

Seriously, happy to make the call as there but for the grace of God goes a terrible accident and the obvious consequences for all concerned.

Im glad someone agrees with me.I also thought of what you have put.At the end of the day people like this can possibly kill someone or seriously affect you financially if they crash into your car.

Oh don't worry, as soon as I had enough info off my friend to identify it I was straight on the blower to Stansted police station, who were very grateful for the info. I hope they deport the lot of em.

I was just curious how many lentilists were present.

Standstead Police would probably flag the index on ANPR.. Most, if not all airports are surrounded by cameras now-a-days and as soon as it hits their turf and pings on the system, they will probably be out there looking for it

I would almost always be pissed off at what it had come to that we're all informants, what happened to society and trust, yada yada.

But in this case it's obvious you did the right thing, well done!

So he is a foreigner! Probably lying about his age as well. He is probably 18 and just a tad on the short side. Can't trust Johnny Foreigner.
