Does anyone know this garage in Worcester? Also known as Laugherne Garage.

I think they used to be a Mercedes dealer or part of one but aren't any more. Possibly from when a few years ago I think Mercedes culled all their UK dealers and rehired the ones that were good?

website: www.laugherne-garage.co.uk

Anyway, just wondering as I think my car was once sold there...

thanks for anything you can tell me

Sorry, nowt to do with this garage,

but IIRC all mercedes dealers are PLC's (groups) now,
all of the idependant / family owned businesses were terminated when block exemption was introduced in 2001 nerd

waits to be corrected

Hi

Stirling is owned by the chap on the right of the photo called Adrian, they used to have the Mercedes franchise in Worcester.

They started at Farrier Street and then moved to Blackpole in Worcester into a purpose built showroom. Then Drayton took the franchise over at the blackpole site, it has just been revamped.

Stirling now specialise in luxury cars and have an excellent reputation for quality used Mercedes at cheaper prices than the main dealers. It is a family run business who have a wealth of experience in sales and aftersales. I would thoroughly recommend them.

Ditto the above....they were a proper Mercedes dealership rather than than the faceless ones we have had for the last few years pedding excuses for Mercs

Thanks all.

Do you reckon it's worth making the trip over to pop in there and see if they can tell me anything about my old Cossie Merc? It's lacking almost any history but I know it was maintained and sold by them, before I bought it (on ebay!!).

I just want to learn what I can about it so I can guage where I am with it, what work I should do and what might have been done etc. I know it has 'history' of the less-than-ideal kind, I'm not blaming the garage at all and just think that anything I can learn about it should give me a better picture of its past, and may potentially add to its history/value (these cars are in Classic Cars mag this month! I even got a personal mention ) or perhaps at least they can tell me something about it that makes an interesting story!

My family runs a garage too and I know we'd be helpful if someone asked us about a car we sold or maintained. So is it worth a try with Stirling? I was slightly worried I'd turn up there and a man brandishing a crowbar would tell me in no uncertain terms to go away and never come back...! Who might I speak to?

Hi

I have spoken to Adrian this morning for you, he said he will know most of 190 Cosworths that they sold, if there is any history then I think it will be with Draytons of Worcester as they are now the dealers, that is if they kept the records.

Adrian at Strirlings said you are welcome to give him a call or pop in anytime and he will assist you with any information he may have, if he sees the car he said he will more than likely recognise it.

He is also a car enthusiast at heart, I am sure it would be worth a trip to see him.

He is mega busy today so I would advise you call another day and see when he is going to be free. Their phone number is 01905 422512.

Hope this helps.

Nick

Well I have spoken with Adrian this morning - agreed he's a top bloke, very friendly and helpful.

I've found out the point they believe the car's service history went missing, it seems it was just a couple of years ago.

I already have the address in what little service history I do have of the owner who might have it, so will get to my feather quill (well wireless keyboard actually) and compose me a letter!

Everything crossed, it will be a miracle if I source it.
