Anyone tried one of these - think Carbon Bits do them and I'm sure there's others. My kids (fairly young and therefore not gifted with too much common sense yet) have to get in and out and I wouldn't mind reducing the exhaust temperature a bit. Eventually one them's going to get a burn getting in or out if I don't do anything.

Do these guards work at reducing temperatures? Any problems with power reduction or increased engine compartment temps? How are they to fit & what's the quality like?

Cheers.

Don't know about the insulated carbon guards but mine, like most, is a simple perforated heat shield fitted over the outside of the silencer with a small air gap. It doesn't affect the noise or performance of the silencer/exhaust in any way whatsoever; merely stops you touching the hot system. Well worth fitting, as an unprotected exhaust can severely injure bare legs!

The metal shield doesn't stop burning...as a wife of a mate of mine will testify.

A carbon version of this might work better though.
