ECU Upgrade Question

Hello, thinking about an aftermarket ECU mainly the new DTA S80PRO, is the stepper motor reused in any after market ECU,S ???Just had a look at the wiring info on the DTA and not sure if it accomdates it, or if its even needed with an aftermarket system.

most afterarket ECU's can run a stepper, Emerald for example, they do take up more of the ECU functionality tho as steppers have 2 inputs and idle speed control motors only need one.

Take a good look around there's lots of choice these days I'd base my decision on how much support is available as well as functionality and cost.

There was a recent post where PeteH pointed out that life without the stepper was possible even with lucus ecu.

I use the stepper with my VEMS setup. There is no need to use it though, as idle speed can effectively controled by having the ECU adjust the ignition timing. (Assuming your ECU has this feature)
