I noticed that in my 996 c2, the passenger door carpets seem to be getting wet but I can't seem to locate the source of the problem. It appears to be coming from the bottom corner of the door (near the footwell). I'm guessing it must be something to do with the rubber piping at the bottom corner as that is the only thing that seems to touch the door carpet. I've tried to give them a good clean with soap and water but it is still happening when it rains (i.e. all the bl**dy time at the moment).

Any ideas out there how to fix it ?

Have you had your windscreen replaced recently??? - The water could be coming in thru the screen - down behind the dash and onto the carpet that way - if you have let me know who replaced it

It may be the membrane seal inside the door - has it had work on the window mechanism recently?

Most doors allow water to seep in and so they are designed to let it drain out again and not get into the car as a result of a membrane.

Nope, no windscreen repair done.

It does seem to start from the bottom corner of the door - very strange..... I've compared it to the drivers side and can't see any difference - I reckon Baz may be correct.

I`d second the door membrane guess.

Thanks gents - no doubt it is not a warranty item - I guess it comes under wear and tear ?

Check out the drains, these can get clogged and wet floors are the result. No idea where they are on porsche but our CRX suffered from this. And each time I go into an OPC they try and get me to pay vast sumes to have them cleaned out. Let me know if you find them!

Thanks for the replies - It is only affecting the doors, not the floors.

I think the £25 plus 1hr labour is the way forward! To be honest I was expecting £250 , not £25 !! What a bargain - I'll have 2 !

Thanks Mike - I will see you at the Oulton Park track day on the 16th March if you are there to drool over the exotica !
