Errrr...obvious choice would be Range Rover.
M.
Sorry Greg but the Range rover and the Lexus run rings around it, as for the girl, it was Cambridge.

I just got a phone number off a stunning 21 year old in town, solely due to being in a black drug dealers car! I love it!
So how much did she buy?
Martin.
3 grammes and a fake rolex.
I'm sorry, but IMO the X5 3.0d sport sh1ts all over a range rover!
0-60 in 8 seconds against about 16 for the V6 Tdi range.
33mpg against about 20 in the range.
And, the Lexus, although I know its a good car and I do like yours Adrian, it just doesn't push my buttons.
I thought long and hard about what to get for work after the voyager and got down to a 535d sport touring or an X5.

If I was buying an off roader I would not buy an X5 - it would last 5 minutes off road...
Luckily, I don't think many 4x4 owners often need to venture off road, but it is good at driving over the grassy kerb outside my house when the cock next door has parked his massive lorry in the way!

I've had mine happily trundling around mountains in Wales on rock climbing adventures. It also happily goes into fields as this picture shows.
If you swap the standard road tyres for the optional M&S spec ones it's actually not that bad, and just as good as a RR going down due to having the same HDC software
. I've spent a lot of time in the Alps with the X5 with M&S tyres and never once had to put the snow chains on, despite many other 4x4s stopping to do just that. Of course, on muddy and wet B-roads, which is what I bought it for, it will have a RR off into the hedge trying to keep up. So, yes, in that sense RR are better off-road.......
Remember the latest RR was developed under BMWs watch.
